Painted Hydrangeas

The Butterflies Class created some amazing painted hydrangeas! They first painted beautiful blue and lavender colors onto white paper with watercolors. Then they painted purple or pink circles on top of that and then added white dots. They cut out leaves from green painted paper and added them to their paintings. They are lovely!

Exploring Color with the Seedlings

The Seedlings Class LOVES color! They have been exploring color through a variety of ways. First they made their collaborative art using gadgets, their hands, brushes and more on large, yellow paper. Then we painted beautiful rainbows on their hands and they made handprint art. We read them books about color, like "Pete The Cat, I love my White Shoes," and "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See?" We sang "The Rainbow Song," and they danced with rainbow streamers. We also worked on color sorting with math manipulatives as a group and then they individually sorted colored collage materials to glue onto cardboard sqaures they had painted. Collaborative Art

The first week of the 2017-2018 school year is finally here!! The children are so excited to explore their new classrooms and meet their new friends and teachers. There is so much to do play with and do, especially for our curious little Seedlings Class (2.5 year olds). We decided to star the year with an art project that would be just as much fun as the train table or the play kitchen. We pulled together plastic tools, scrapers, tooth brushes, apple halves, corks and more and let the children dip them into paint.
