Butterfly Class Houses, Part 2
The Butterflies have been doing a lot of amazing projects around their study of houses and the shapes that comprise them. They have been reading books about houses, such as "Houses of the World" by Giles Laroche, which talked about how people live in different places and as part of different cultures.
They made 3-dimensional houses using small, brown paper bags. They trimmed the top of the bags into triangles to look like the peak of a roof. They then cut out squares, rectangles and other shapes from construction paper. They glued them on to one side of the paper bag. These items represented windows, doors, chimneys and bricks. They added details like window panes, roof shingles and door knobs with a black marker. These houses are how hanging on display in our hallway!
